What we're looking for in a Software Development Manager:

The software development manager is responsible for developing and maintaining internal and external-facing software products and websites that contribute to the company achieving revenue goals while providing best-in-class customer experiences.

In this role, you will design and manage the entire software development lifecycle for all software products, websites, and services. Leading software development projects for both internal and external-facing products and websites, you will track and manage progress, risks, and dependencies from idea to implementation. As the architect, you will design solutions that support growing business needs while thoroughly considering the system impact. You will govern and improve the software development process based on data and facts. Ownership of coding standards and software deployment processes and integrity will be your responsibility.

You will work closely with product, marketing, operations, and other business stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, releasing software in a timely fashion. Organizing planning, sprint, design, and release processes, you will continuously groom and prioritize the backlog in an agile environment. Additionally, you will work with executive management to establish priorities and vision while providing realistic deliverable timelines. Supporting marketing efforts, you will execute SEO tasks, ensuring accurate tags and site performance as measured by Google Analytics.

This job may be for you if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field

  • 5+ years of software development experience

  • 3+ years of software team leadership experience

  • Knowledge of front end (Javascript, React, Angular, HTML, CSS) and backend (Java, C#, GO, NodeJS, .Net, etc...) languages (You can both code and perform code reviews)

  • Demonstrated project management experience: planning, estimation, execution, issue/risk management and resource management/allocation

  • Experience architecting technical solutions for complex problems and delivering them to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Experience leading agile development practices which include daily scrums, sprint planning, sizing, and scoping activities

  • Enthusiastic about coaching and mentoring others helping them develop their careers

  • Ability to become a trusted advisor by building and managing relationships with colleagues, vendors, and other industry professionals

  • Experience developing and maintaining high performing ecommerce and customer-facing websites

  • Experience building web-based applications that integrate with both on-prem and cloud-based programs and databases

  • Knowledge of SEO is helpful

  • Experience with UI/UX development is helpful

    Why you should join our team:

    This position is based in our Saint George, UT office and reports to the GM of Consumer. You will enjoy a flexible work model with a schedule of 3 days in office and 2 days from home per week (details will be provided during the interview process).

    We offer a competitive salary range between $100,000 and $150,000 a year depending on experience, plus a company profit-sharing bonus every 6 months.
