Aerotek Mechanical Laboratory Technician in Somerville, New Jersey


  • Prepare samples for development studies, design verification, and regulatory submission studies. This includes running processes such as, but not limited to, barbing, ultrasonic welding, braiding, annealing, and scouring

  • Sample characterization including geometric measurements, visual inspection and mechanical property testing

  • Concept development that may include CAD/SolidWorks drawing and making prototypes

  • Executes test plans and protocols for development studies

  • Follows GDP requirements in documenting all experimental work

  • Completes all ComplianceWire and Summit safety training as required


  • Minimum of a BS in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; preferred polymer focus

  • Six months of industry experience

  • Mechanical testing, sample fabrication or prototyping

  • Characterization work/experience

  • SolidWorks experience and 3D printing
