Avera Marshall Cardiac Clinic RN- Watchman Coordinator in Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Watchman (LAAO) Coordinator works within an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care for a defined population of patients. This RN Watchman Coordinator will be working with patients who have a diagnosis of atrial fibrillation. The Coordinator will be responsible for screening referrals to determine if the patient is an appropriate candidate for the LAAO Device (Watchman). Once appropriateness has been determined, the Coordinator will be in close contact with the patient and Provider to schedule appointments, testing, the procedure, and all follow up needed. The Coordinator also enters all required data into the NCDR LAAO Registry and tracks the patient’s outcomes for two years post procedure. The RN independently implements and carries out the plan of care established by the physicians responsible for the program.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday with variable work hours
Education/Experience:
Graduate of a nursing program. Two years of critical care experience is preferred
Licensure/Certification:
Current licensure of registered nursing in the states of South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota as required. Current BLS and ACLS certification. Rankin/NIH Stroke Scale Certification required within 6 months of accepting the position.
