Job Description:

This position is available for remote work anywhere in the US.

Role Summary/Purpose:

We are seeking a talented Senior Software Developer . This individual will be a trusted member of a small team and must be able to expand their responsibility over time to support Allegro Credit’s continued growth and success.

As part of Synchrony’s CareCredit team, you’ll have an impact on the growth and strategy of our recent acquisition, Allegro Credit. We partner with healthcare and veterinary providers as well as retailers to help people access care they want and need. You’ll help us ensure consumers have healthcare financing options available when they need it most.

Allegro Credit is a financial technology company focusing on creating simple payment options to help retailers grow their businesses. The company is well established in the finance space and has operated for over 150 years. Its leadership is well experienced and thoughtful about balancing employee experience with company performance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead and architect solutions that meet Allegro business requirements to deliver business value by enabling rapid innovation through modern software development and delivery.

  • Technical leadership, setting best practices including integration and application development, deployment, testing (unit and systems), and iterative refinement.

  • Seek out ways to utilize open standards and open source frameworks for microservices architecture to improve processes and productivity, and make recommendations to support an organization scaling at a rapid pace.

  • Define, communicate, and manage a change management (release) process to develop and implement new applications/code and updates to existing applications/code.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or related field

  • 10+ years of experience with 5+ years previous design and development experience with Javascript, Java, CFML (ColdFusion), based systems.

  • 2+ years experience with cloud native web application development, Pivot Cloud Foundry preferred

  • Demonstrative success with multiple web application projects.

  • Experience integrating with MuleSoft, other ESB or enterprise integration framework.

  • Experience in application migration to AWS cloud using refactoring, rearchitecting and re-platforming approach.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in authoring project documentation for IT business projects: business requirements, design documents, technical specifications, test plans and test scripts.

Skills:

  • SOLID understanding of and detailed experience with object oriented based design pattens, microservices architecture and frameworks, and event driven design.

  • Experience with Adobe ColdFusion framework and CFML application development

  • Expertise in web development technologies such as HTML, XML, Flex, JavaScript, CFML, ASP, SQL, Java or C++, SOAP and REST-based web services.

  • Experience using continuous integration capabilities GIT, Attlassian BitBucket Pipelines, Docker containers).

  • Strong understanding of relational databases.

  • Strong business analysis and functional experience, including requirements gathering, creating/deploying solutions to end users.

  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a “consistently meets expectations” performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance requirement).
