Sonos Inc. Software Engineer in Seattle, Washington

As a Software Engineer on the Sonos Platform API team, you will design and build the next generation Sonos software platform that modernizes our developer experience. Our services must be performant, globally available, and support millions of connected devices. The Platform API team is giving Sonos users full control of their system on the LAN and through the cloud. This is an opportunity to solve challenging problems without obvious solutions and deliver the best user experience across the Sonos Platform. What You'll Do Use your C/C++ skills to develop APIs that facilitate remote access to Sonos devices worldwide. Collaborate with cloud team members to develop solutions in our embedded software platform. Architect solutions that ensure clean SDK integrations into existing mobile and cloud codebases. Review requirements and behavior specifications that shape how the team solves problems. Basic Qualifications Experience shipping reliable, extensible and maintainable software 2-4 years of experience in C++ development Ability to effectively engage in written and verbal technical communication. Willingness to engage in Agile software development methodology Degree in Computer Science, related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience This role is office-based. Qualified candidates must be able to be in office at least 3 times a week Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud, RESTful APIs, and HTTP technologies Experience with TCP, UDP and other networking protocols Embedded/IoT application development a plus At Sonos we consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, which may lead individual compensation to vary depending on job related qualifications, skills, and experience. All full time employees are eligible for merit increases, discretionary bonuses, and equity. Our job postings may span more than one career level and the base pay range may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions. The starting base pay for this role for all US candidates is between: $114,000 and $127,000 Please note that compensation details listed in US job postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
