Passion for our mission and vision is required! This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building the sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface. As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers, you will be responsible for the vehicle specification and design for the lunar lander system. In your role as the Responsible Engineer for Vehicle Design on the Systems Engineering team, you will be a program leader defining and developing the requirements and design artifacts for the system, as well as developing the processes and strategies for managing specifications, design parameters, and technical performance measures for the vehicle. Your passion, expertise, and skills will impact the design, development, and integration of the spacecraft and mission success. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Define requirements and design processes and strategies, including the tools and infrastructure required to execute your vision Own the vehicle product and specification tree Understand and assess impacts of vehicle design trades Review and approve vehicle design and requirement changes Define the change control processes for design and requirements Manage the definition of interface requirements and their verification Understand and define the relationships and traceability between requirements, design parameters, technical budgets, ICDs, program plans, and technical performance measures Develop and execute plans for completing requirements and design products, coordinating across Integrated Product Teams Perform compliance and traceability assessments and be able to report key metrics and issues effectively to program leadership and stakeholders Utilize good engineering and business judgement to ensure the most efficient and effective product is designed, manufactured, procured, tested, qualified, and delivered to satisfy mission objectives Embody, promote, and coach the Blue Origin leadership principles Minimum Qualifications: Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space! B.S. degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or related field 8+ years of Systems Engineering experience performing activities such as requirements definition, traceability, interface definition, design documentation, integration, verification, and validation Detailed knowledge of space systems design and requirements Ability to lead and coordinate requirements and design products across stakeholders and experts from varying engineering fields Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate technical information effectively Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (cur
