Saltchuk Marine Shared Services, LLC Project Controller in Seattle, Washington

This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and complete project financial and performance data, and related reporting. The Project Controller supports Project Managers in reporting, planning, scheduling, cost estimating and monitoring, and quality management primarily through managing data and analyses. Essential Functions: * Plan and track project cost and schedule performance. * Develop project accounting structure and ensure costs are correctly allocated within that structure. * Develop project schedules, track project schedule performance and update schedules as necessary for project changes. * Analyze data for trends and issues that may negatively impact or improve performance. * Identify opportunities for improvements and communicate them to project teams. * Provide project team with financial and schedule impacts of investigations and studies. * Responsible for project related purchasing, receiving and invoice processing. Responsible for managing project accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions. * Responsible for developing and providing progress reporting on project financials and schedules as required for each project. * Follows company procedures for execution of projects to improve project performance and mitigate risks, and recommends any improvements in company procedures to Project Managers. * Responsible for project document control and data management. * Assist Project Managers with overall project update reporting. * Participate in project meetings as assigned by Project Managers. Knowledge Of: * Standard accounting methods, project scheduling, system safety and reliability, shipyard safety requirements. * Ship and barge operation, construction, maintenance and repair. * Supply chain logistics, maritime shipping industry Skills and Abilities: * Excellent communication and human relation skills necessary in working with employees, subcontractors, vendors, and customers. * Ability to prepare comprehensive coherent written reports. * Ability to plan and organize work in an often-changing environment. * Ability to remain calm and maintain a sense of humor during times of stress. * Ability to use a personal computer for word-processing, spreadsheets, scheduling software (P6, MS Project) and corporate ERP systems (finance, HR, supply chain, procurement, and others) * Ability to give attention to detail, to make decisions, and to solve problems. Minimum Qualifications: This position generally requires a Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience in the marine, construction or logistics industry including some project relevant experience. A degree in accounting, business, logistics or construction management is highly desirable. Compensation: Pay for this position will be between $67,288 and $100,932 annually. Vacation: This position will accrue 10 days of vacation a year. Accrued vacation will be vested and available for use after successfully completing six (6) months of service.
