Ensuring we have the right products in our catalog and that they are available to ship quickly to our customers is essential to our success as a business. Our largest Retail organization is seeking an experienced senior leader to run a series of new programs to improve the way we think about and manage this selection. This role will have a direct and significant impact on our ability to surprise and delight our customers, drive topline growth, and meet our profitability goals. It will also have frequent access to Amazon's senior Retail leadership. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading large project groups via indirect leadership, influencing others to act, communicating both upward and outward both verbally and via written narratives. He/she should also have experience working with technology and operational teams, gathering and articulating business requirements, and should have a working knowledge of supply chain management. They must have strong data analysis skills and a hunger to invent and simplify processes and reporting. The Principle PM, Retail Selection will focus efforts in three areas, in partnership with tech teams: (1) Forecasting and purchasing new products (includes deciding which new products to prioritize and buy first); (2) Evaluating buying across the catalog to maximize the customer experience (including how to decide which slower moving tail product to buy into); and (3) Driving the buildout of new technology tools and the improvement of existing ones to optimize business performance.
