Job Summary

Provide strategic direction, develop messages, and communicate planning and implementation in an effort to increase the awareness of corporate vision, business strategies and initiatives among the firm’s internal and external audiences. Recommend and implement strategic communication and marketing solutions to address varying business needs, supporting client retention and sales goals. Create enduring and effective partnerships via cross-functional teams and external vendors to support business and marketing objectives. Leads large or multiple projects with significant scope and impact. Works independently on difficult assignments that are broad in nature requiring originality and ingenuity with appreciable latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Consult on and create communication campaigns for advisors, employers and participants.

  • Consult on and create customized marketing campaigns for key advisors and clients, including participant communications.

  • Partner with technical subject matter experts to communicate complex regulatory or business initiatives in a simple, understandable way.

  • Support product and technology development and launches through strategic marketing solutions and workforce readiness. Translate business strategy into work programs and processes.

  • Cultivate and manage partnerships with internal stakeholders for effective teaming and successful outcomes.

  • Serve as a liaison to leadership and external audiences.

  • Participate in message development, delivery and monitoring.

  • Work with department and firm leadership to develop and support effective crisis management communication strategy.

  • Effectively interact with firm’s senior management team, as well as key advisors and clients.

  • Set clear objectives that align with department and corporate strategy.

  • Manage marketing collateral and content library ensuring brand support and unified positioning.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Knowledge of :

  • Advanced principals of the financial services industry in order to support communication needs at all levels.

  • Advanced concepts and practices of employer-sponsored retirement plans.

  • Advanced concepts, practices and procedures of strategic communication and marketing.

  • Regulatory Issues and media that may affect the financial services industry.

Skill in :

  • Editorial and influential writing style.

  • Analytical and consultative skills to leverage metrics to achieve objectives.

  • Managing time sufficient to handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Developing strategy including identifying objectives, defining requirements and developing a structure for accomplishing objectives successfully.

Ability to :

  • Create and execute strategic communications plans

  • Independently manage projects, solve problems and develop innovative solutions.

  • Present technical information in a clear, understandable way.

  • Operate standard office equipment and using required software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint sufficient to create documents, spreadsheets, e-mails and presentations.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Communications, Marketing, Business Management or a related field with a minimum of (6) six years of experience in Strategic Communications.

  • OR

  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
