Description
This position will be responsible for data gathering, business analysis, and insights delivery within the Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) Strategic Planning & Insights team. This is a global role contributing to high-impact projects by providing analytical support focused on understanding business performance insight and market performance dynamics. The role will further support projects that are focused on developing and refining the strategy of the sales organization through the use of data.
As a Business Analyst, you will collect and mine data, conduct analyses, and generate insights to guide strategy planning and decision making for the leaders of the organization. You will establish dashboards, operational metrics, and develop recommendations to support the rapid growth of the business. You will have the opportunity to work with a large and complex data warehouse to gather insights using data from across Amazon and Third Party.
Key job responsibilities
You will:
Develop metrics and reports to manage business performance across the entire WWPS sales organization.
Develop performance dashboards that encompass key metrics to be reviewed with senior sales directors and WWPS leadership team in order to drive and manage the business
Build excel models and trending analysis to support strategy development
Drive analytics projects to provide deep insights into business performance and go-forward strategy implications
Coordinate across AWS to share programs and best-practices as well as participate on any pan-corporation programs as needed.
Assist with analytical projects focused on deep insights that enable business planning decisions

About Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of Microsoft Excel experience
Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data
Experience with data visualization software (e.g., AWS QuickSight or Tableau) or open-source project
Experience with SQL, data modeling, and data warehousing
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working within a high-growth, technology company
Exhibits sound business judgment, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership and leading data-driven analyses to support and grow a business

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $169,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
