Machinists Inc. Assembly Technician in Seattle, Washington

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician who will work within a team to disassemble, diagnose, assemble and validate a variety of components, tooling and manufactured systems with a heavy emphasis on gears and gearbox assemblies. We are one of the largest job shops in the Pacific Northwest and take on custom, complex projects large and small from aerospace, heavy equipment, naval vessels, energy production and more.As an Assembly Technician you will:Work from blueprints, manuals, drawings and other instructions to assemble, disassemble and evaluate mechanical and electrical components for large, custom projects; mostly related to gearbox assembliesRun testing equipment to ensure proper functionality before final assembly and packagingComplete required paperwork both listing repairs to be made and signing off on completion of components for deliveryParticipate in meetings to coordinate scheduling and organization of work to be completedAssist in developing procedures to ensure quality and increased productivityThe Qualified Candidates will:Have a strong background in reading and understanding blueprints, mechanical and electrical schematicsBe skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, overhead cranes, forklifts and other equipment necessary to complete the jobBe safety conscious at all times, utilizing proper PPE and 5S procedures to ensure a clean and efficient working environmentHave excellent communication skills able to have technical conversations with both co workers and customers as requiredOur assembly team works in conjunction with Engineering, Fabrication, Machining and Procurement to create finished manufacturing systems that are critical to the needs of our customers in energy production, defense, aerospace, naval and other industries.
