Summary
The Senior Research Engineer at Raven Applied Technologies, LLC in Scottsdale, Arizona will be responsible for developing software algorithms for automating farm equipment in order to improve the operating efficiency in the field.
Duties
The duties include:
Developing deep learning infrastructure and pipelines for collecting data and training algorithms that are specific to various tasks in the field such as grain cart operations during harvest and tillage;
Leading the computer vision and machine learning systems work products such as detecting objects in the field, advanced sensor fusion, path-planning and situational awareness;
Deploying the latest system software releases to customers and critically analyzing the improvements in the efficiency of operation and for researching, developing, and evaluating new technology, processes, and equipment in response to an assigned goal or to solve a specific problem;
Coordinating research, studies, experiments, and development activities between multiple disciplines of engineering; Working on complex problems that impact the success of current or future products;
Serving as a technical specialist in application of theories, concepts, principles, and processes in area of responsibility;
Working with internal teams, customer, and vendors to facilitate effective communication;
Preparing reports of research data, evaluating, and providing recommendations based on findings;
Keeping abreast of new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and applications;
Semonstrating the Dimensions of Competition and Raven Team Member Values in their daily actions;
Maintaining a clean and safe work area and following established safety and ergonomic standards;
Continuously improving and promoting the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
May telecommute at least one day a week. Salary: $125,350-$208,150/year.
Minimum Requirements
Requires a Master's degree in Robotics System Development, Robotics, or a directly related field plus two years of experience as a Software Engineer or any related occupation designing iterative hardware and software subsystems.
The two years of experience must include six months of experience with each of the following:
Autonomous system operating in an off-road setting;
C++, Python, and Rust in a Linux environment;
Product development experience with embedded Linux and real time distributed systems;
Research experience in developing and deploying learning models;
Product development experience for perception, state estimation and prediction in the scope situation awareness;
DevOps experience for continuous integration and deployment;
Developing and deploying micro-services;
Developing optimized software for robotic systems;
Coordinating safety field tests.
