Aston Carter Mortgage Compliance Analyst in Schaumburg, Illinois


The Compliance Analyst position requires a solid understand of regulatory compliance including knowledge of TRID, RESPA, HMDA Federal and State regulations and how those laws & regulations pertain to loan origination business.

-Functions as a SME (subject matter expert) in all areas of Consumer Compliance (i.e. advertising, HMDA, REPSA, TRID, AML etc.)

-Assisting in the development, maintenance, and monitoring of effective procedures and controls related to the Compliance Program.

-Collaborating with business units and infrastructure groups on the implementation of regulatory changes and by providing guidance/support on projects and process enhancements.

-Assisting in the preparation of reporting on applicable program components and metrics.

-Assist other senior compliance professionals in evaluating the adequacy of business policies, procedures, training, and reference materials, system, and manual processes with respect to regulatory requirements.

-Provide responses regarding daily questions to the “Compliance Inbox” from staff members throughout the company regarding complex TRID, company policies and procedures and regulatory questions as well as how to interpret Mavent report

-Review marketing material

-Assist Vendor Management team with compliance issues and perform compliance review of vendors.

-Ensure compliance with the SAFE Act requirements, Including Loan Originators, Branch Offices and Company licensing through NMLS.

-Oversee AML fraud detection, suspicious activity and market manipulation through monitoring and reporting

-Ensure compliance with the Independent Appraisal Act.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

-Ability to interpret and execute Federal Regulations as they apply to advertising and fair lending rules (UDAAP, RESPA, TILA, FTC, SAFE, MAP, HMDA etc.)

-Minimum 2-3 years experience in financial regulatory compliance

-Familiarity with credit underwriting, finance, or a related field preferred

-Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills

-Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communications

-Strong research, analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to identify compliance risks and issues for escalation to management, as necessary

-Ability to manage workload and shift priorities to meet deadlines in a dynamic and rapidly-changing environment.

-Knowledge of LOS Encompass preferred
