Eaton Corporation Quality Lab Supervisor in Santa Rosa Jauregui, Mexico

Eaton’s Power System division is currently seeking a Quality Lab Supervisor to join our team. This position is based at our Queretaro facility.

The Quality Lab Supervisor is responsible for request to buy measurement systems equipment based on budget. Stop production and products when risk is associated to any measurement system problems or any unsatisfactory testing lab results include lay out. Assign necessary resource in order to cover no normal production scheduling. Material quality decision specially on rubber molded product. Stop any incoming rubber product due rejected incoming inspection conditions. Modification of measurement systems as necessary. Supervise and ensure that the Quality measurements of the Quality lab are performed in accordance to all internal and external requirements in order to provide precise measures to support the operative process of the company. Be the material expert at the plant specially on rubber molded products where he can approve, advice or reject material based on lab testing inspection.

Some activities related with the position will be:

  • Approves reports and Dimensional Tests according to the requirements of the clients, internal and external, give tech supports as required

  • Act as a business partner by planning, initiating, leading, measuring, monitoring and assessing continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements by applying appropriate Eaton Business Systems (EBS) processes and problem-solving tools such as ELS (Eaton Lean System) and 5s.

  • Participate in setting, communicating and achieving goals and objectives and develop and maintain performance metrics as required to monitor results and use those results as a tool to identify and initiate process improvements within own work area. participate in continuous improvement teams.

  • Be involved in Implement, promote and maintain a safe work environment by implementing a culture of accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and application of rules. Identify, control and manage risks and hazards in their own area.

  • Promotes the mission and vision of the company by actively supporting Eaton's ethics and values, as well as quality policies.

  • Monitor equipment and facility and initiate maintenance work orders as required, to ensure efficient, effective and safe working condition.

  • Motivate and train employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity and quality through the effective use of recognition channels and available rewards to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results for the company.

  • Follow the technological advances in order to adopt the usage of new advance materials for rubber production and prepare projects accordingly. I. Knowledge on operation of Rubber Process Analyzer, Thermal Gravimetric Analyzer, Differential Scanning Calorimetry and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy testing equipment,

  • Material Science knowledge and expertise along with experience in many types of fabrication, processing and testing.

  • Work closely together with the sales and product managers and give technical support in order to develop innovative products and services for the customers.

  • Manage all necessary laboratory resources as necessary by plant requirements.



Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Engineering, Materials and Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering (M.Sc. degree or student in Polymer or Material Science preferable)

  • 3 years min experience at least in a manufacturing environment automotive parts, Plastics and / or Electrical Area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive technical knowledge in the areas of rubber manufacturing processes, quality control, materials, rubber testing, rubber applications:

  • Basic knowledge of national and local safety and environmental standards, guidelines and policies such as ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ASME and 14.5 2009, Geometric Tolerances, MSA 4a,

  • Applicable Standards and / or Regional Internal Initiatives.

  • English min 80%.
