Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Santa Monica, California

Description Work as an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk in a stimulating work environment with a team of highly skilled professionals through this opportunity offered by Robert Half. This position works closely and reports to the Accounting Manager and handles all general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. The essential functions of this role will include matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in the Santa Monica, California area and will be a long-term contract / temporary to hire position.

Major responsibilities

  • Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies

  • Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners

  • Handle the administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department

  • Manage department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it on a daily basis

  • Provide internal and external audit assistance as required

  • Carry out additional projects as required

  • Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

  • Carry out a full-cycle A/P

  • Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling Requirements - Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

  • General familiarity with Microsoft Excel

  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Strong familiarity with journal entries

  • Proven knowledge of Form 1099

  • Microsoft Excel experience

  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Well-founded grasp of Reconcile Vendor Statements

  • Foundational knowledge in Code Invoices

  • Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
