Liberty Latin America Senior RAN Engineer in San Juan, Puerto Rico
What´s the role?
As Senior RAN Engineer you will provide radio frequency (RF) engineering and some Radio Access Network (RAN) Design engineering. This position is targeted for a wireless communications and RF engineering subject matter expert (SME) who will be responsible for providing complex engineering solutions to Liberty’s Radio Access Network.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Performs network design activities for radio access network (RAN). Analyzes, designs, and optimizes wireless network to drive improvements in functionality, performance, and efficiency
Uses propagation models, predictive analysis, various tools/processes, and engineering principles to make additions and changes to the network in support of the organizations strategic objectives
Collaborates with multiple teams to ensure engineering designs are implemented as intended and to ensure quality issues are resolved in a timely manner
Conducts research and trials to work through new developments and innovations.
May include GIS (Geographic Information Systems) activities involving the analysis of RAN data to create design plans to improve all key indexes and performance indicators.
Presents to leadership on research and trials for the Liberty’s RAN Network
Use database management programs such as SQL to analyze cell sites data integrity and KPIs report
Oversees the design and optimization of wireless radio access network communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition and ancillary equipment
Close collaboration with RAN planning and implementation for the deployment of new 5G technologies and associated wireless spectrum
Serve as subject matter expert and provide technology guidance to Access construction and engineering market teams
Explains complex, difficult and/or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
Perform other duties or projects as requested by supervisor
What do you need?
Education and/or Experience:
5-7 years of applicable experience in RF engineering and RAN Planning & Design
Experience in Network Planning, Engineering, Construction and Mobility architectures
Mobile networks operations preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred
Other Qualifications:
Knowledge in RF Design Tools (i.e Atoll), big data and database management (SQL) and Data Visualization (PowerBI and Tableau)
Expert knowledge in MS office applications
Customer Focus and service oriented.
