RedSeal Senior Site Reliability/DevOps Engineer in San Jose, California

The platform calculates a model of the networking infrastructure (physical, cloud, hybrid) and helps customers validate and improve their overall level of resilience, accelerate incident containment and improve the productivity of the resource constrained security and networking teams. RedSeal is looking to rapidly transform our technology into a SaaS offering. With that, comes an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled DevOps SRE engineer to join our company to lead this transformation.

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Deep understanding of DevOps and SRE engineering, CI/CD, and software development

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience

  • Expert in building out dashboards for observability, monitoring, and alerting

  • Experience working with modern SRE tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Datadog, Alertmanager

  • Extensive experience with designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform

  • Hands-on experience with Linux OS and cloud (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure)

  • Hands-on experience with container orchestration systems and microservices (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)

  • Hands-on DevOps engineering and architecture across a wide variety of technology and cloud environments, with a focus on software development

  • Working knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible

  • Experience working with modern DevOps, build, and CI/CD tools such as CI Server, Jenkins, GitHub, BitBucket, GitLab, Maven, npm, Gradle, TFS

  • Strong team player, excellent communication skills, ability to be customer facing

  • Experience with compliance standards such as SOC 2, FedRAMP, and CIS

    Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience leading ground up transformation of enterprise software to the Cloud

  • AWS Cloud certification

    Responsibilities :

  • Actively manage, improve, and monitor cloud infrastructure on AWS, including backups, patches, and scaling

  • Monitor cloud environments, watch logs, and maintain uptime

  • Monitor and Manage cloud infrastructure costs

  • Maximize maintainability and efficiency of current systems/software via code and performance monitoring as well as optimization, reporting, and integration management

  • Help maintain, unify and upgrade existing testing and staging environments for a variety of production services

  • Help maintain CI/CD model for new SaaS project

  • Design, build, configure and manage AWS based infrastructure and configuration using IaC

  • Collaborating with sales, product management, and software engineering teams to get better understand of our client’s needs – technically and functionally

  • Influencing the product roadmap by suggesting new features based on customer needs

  • Debug application issues and provide quick workarounds

  • Mentor virtual team members

  • Document, optimize, and administer existing cloud infrastructure throughout the organization (AWS)

  • Develop scripts using configuration management frameworks: Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker
