Microsoft Corporation Program Manager in San Jose, California

As a Program Manager on the Prototype Tooling & Analytics team, you will drive and develop the solutions that will support formulation of data center infrastructure strategies and roadmaps that will enable the development of next-generation services across critical business functions within the organization. You will be chartered with designing, implementing, and supporting robust and sustainable BI solutions, while simultaneously ensuring successful business adoption and delivery with a strong customer focused, innovative, and collaborative team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Collect business requirements and understand the business problem, able to break down the problem into data modeling or automation requirements and steps to solve the problem.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment of the requirements and solution recommendations

  • Manage and support existing data models; develop new models, analytics and what-if scenarios to support informed decision makings in DC infrastructure strategies, mindful of building scalable automated models for the fast-evolving business.

  • Build actionable data quality metrics, identify data gaps and work with data owners to drive continuous improvements in data quality.

  • Transform data into visualization ideas for executive reviews; In-depth skills in creating Power BI reports including the ability to take over existing reports and troubleshoot.

  • Manage Plan of Record generation and distribution across organizations. Support ad-hoc reporting and analytics requests from business teams.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Engineering or related discipline, or 5+ years of related professional experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in Cloud infrastructure capacity planning or supply chain management.

  • 5+ years of experience in data modeling and analytics

  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL scripts, Power Query and Power BI.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, OneNote and SharePoint.

  • Strong analytical skill and sensitivity to data; attention to details.

  • Track record of effectively collaborating across teams and disciplines.

  • Proven ability to define customer-focused scenarios, translate the voice of customer into a viable solution.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and thorough in trouble-shooting issues.

  • Solid communication skills and fluent in presenting analytical results in an impactful manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Azure SQL Database, building ETL solutions with SQL Server Integration Services and pipelines in Azure Data Factory

  • Experience in PowerApps/Automate

  • Planning and time management skills, the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with aggressive timelines and be able to prioritize work accordingly.

  • Embraces continuous improvement and new ways of doing things.

  • Agile in focus and communications – shift from strategic to tactical depending on the needs of the day and the audience.

  • Ability to navigate in an ambiguous and complex environment and across a diverse set of business, operations, engineering, and leadership stakeholders.

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
