Microsoft Corporation Director, Product Marketing - Security Compete in San Jose, California

We are looking for an experienced Marketer to lead the competitive team for the Microsoft Security portfolio - Security, Compliance, Identity, and Management. These solutions help customers protect data, reduce risk, and improve compliance.

You will be responsible for partnering with engineering, data science, and product marketing teams to deliver market insights, field guidance and recommendations for competitive positioning. You are expected to have a deep understanding of customer pain points, market landscape and global business climate, and our products and go-to-market strategies.

Responsibilities

Market Insights, Strategy, Messaging & Positioning

  • Be the subject matter expert for compete, with a deep understanding of the market landscape

  • Analyze market data, develop metrics to track market share, and drive competitive strategy

  • Deliver content that helps position Microsoft as a leading vendor in a thoughtful and compelling way, with consistency across all mediums (e.g., web, slide decks, blogs, FAQs)

  • Partner with Product Marketing Management on content for events, launches, and product moments

  • Partner with Program Management to drive product improvements based on market analysis

Programs & GTM

  • Partner with sales leadership to design and execute go-to-market programs to accelerate SCI market share growth against prioritized competitors

  • Develop proactive field guidance, sales enablement content and offer strategies based on product positioning and market assessment

  • Serve as an evangelist and subject matter expert for Security product positioning and competitive insights across business stakeholders, field, and partners

  • Manage and support the field escalation processes in competitive situations and distill learnings from win/loss reviews to drive changes

  • Drive rapid analysis and communication of market developments as needed

Leadership

  • Lead a team of high performing marketers

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in technology product management/product marketing.

  • Subject matter expert for competitive marketing within Security (Security, Compliance, Identity, and Management) along with a deep understanding of the market landscape

  • Able to translate ideas into clear, high-impact communications and presentations.

  • Outstanding leadership and deep and unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion

  • Track record of recruiting, hiring, and retaining a diverse set of team members along with the ability to develop and grow the people on your team, helping them accomplish their career goals

  • Strong collaboration, communication, influencing, and cross-functional leadership skills

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA)
