Position Overview

Autodesk s executive communications team helps Autodesk executives communicate inspiring and authentic stories to internal and external audiences across the globe. As part of this team, you will create communications content for the CEO that informs employees about company and organizational priorities, and grows understanding of Autodesk and our company narrative, The Future of Making. You will bring strategic thinking, communications expertise, intellectual curiosity, energy and creativity to help our CEO find and tell authentic stories to employees and other key stakeholders. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the head of executive communications.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the CEO, his staff, and others across the company to create strategies and content and execute communications vehicles such as all-employee meetings and webcasts; senior leadership meetings and quarterly calls; town hall meetings in remote offices; leadership announcements; board of directors meetings and communications; and, annual report letters, among others

  • Think strategically to develop and execute an annual internal communications plan for our CEO, in collaboration with other teams including employee communications

  • Provide a point of view on what should be communicated, and how, and be ready to debate that POV with the CEO, executive communications leadership, and CEO staff

  • Develop the strategy for and prepare select executive communications across a variety of internal channels with high quality and attention to detail

  • Work with others on the communications team, employee communications, and with partners across the company on communications projects as needed in the best interests of the company and its employees

  • Pitch in where appropriate to help teammates out on high-priority executive communications or internal communications projects, regardless of executive being supported

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working in software or technology industry for a matrixed, multinational corporation

  • Excellent writer, with the skills to distill complex content into clear, concise and engaging communications, and able to write with speed and accuracy

  • Significant experience blending traditional internal communications tactics with new media, including enterprise collaboration and online platforms

  • Strategic and creative thinker comfortable debating and defending her/his ideas

  • Strong storyteller with the ability to create compelling narratives in support of our business strategies

  • Experience developing and executing communications strategies, plans, programs and events

  • Strong presence and confidence to build high credibility with senior executives

  • Strong organizational skills and business acumen

  • Ability to influence without authority, across functions, geographies and levels, and the ability to work with various departments and teams to drive alignment and collaboration

  • Focused and performance driven

  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills

  • 10 years of relevant work experience

  • Exceptional PowerPoint and/or Keynote skills; knowledge of Photoshop, HTML and SharePoint a plus

  • Bachelor s degree, preferably in English, communications or journalism; though technical degrees could be appropriate with excellent writing and communications skills; advanced degree a plus

  • Ability to manage workload, be flexible and proactive, multitask, work under deadlines, and ensure quality and accuracy

  • Approximately 10% travel required
