Summary:

Facebook is seeking to fill the position of Director – North America Payroll. The successful candidate will be a thought leader with proven record of leading a US payroll team and delivering scalable, employee-enabling payroll services. S/he will have demonstrated experience and content expertise in North America payroll strategy development and execution, including evaluation and implementation of payroll systems and vendor partnerships. Success in this role involves an ability to think big and execute nimbly in order to transform our employee experience with compliance, security and accurate reporting. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable delivering on operations goals and payroll transformation. In this newly created role, the Director will bring together our North America payroll team members, build multiple teams and set a vision to scale our people, process and technology to support Facebook's continued employee growth. Reporting to the Global Payroll Leader, this is a high impact role with significant leadership accountability and key partners in our Peeps, Global Talent, Enterprise Engineering (IT) and Tax organizations.

Required Skills:

  1. Build and develop North America Payroll team with an integrated vision to enable our employees to support Facebook's mission with secure, accurate and compliant payroll service offerings for 40,000+ employees in US & Canada

  2. Partnership and alignment with key stakeholders across the Hire-to-Retire process, including Finance, Employment Tax, Employment Law, Stock Administration, Global Talent, SOX and Compliance functions in every country in which we operate

  3. Accelerate scale through automation and the introduction of advanced finance technologies, continuous monitoring and quality assurance in partnership with our HRIT and Enterprise Engineering (IT) teams. Evaluate the current payroll footprint to cultivate the required roadmap that delivers process standardization, automation, and overall process excellence

  4. Develop strong client and stakeholder relationships, implement effective communication programs and transform our North America payroll support model

  5. Grow the existing North American payroll team and oversee continuous evaluation of our payroll partners, develop talent and advance technology investments

  6. Active leadership on finance strategic initiatives and change management in support of corporate growth and optimization, including new locations, mergers/acquisitions, and additional services as required

  7. Increase scale, capacity and proficiency of the North America payroll team

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline

  2. 15+ years of multi-disciplinary, global experience including payroll, shared services, outsourcing, vendor management, customer and/or employee services

  3. Experience operating and scaling employee services transformation, shared services, project management, systems implementation, acquisition integration and demonstrated deployment of advanced digital finance technologies such as analytics, machine learning, robotic process automation, etc.

  4. Experience working and collaborating in a cross-functional global environment

  5. Leadership experience aligning visions, goals and resources and delivering results

  6. Communication experience and experience in iterative process and technology development and project deployment
