The Talent Pipeline Consultant will serve as the primary strategic partner to the business, developing our talent pipeline strategy for a sustainable source of talent in Texas. Collaborating with the HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition team, this role will develop and implement a strategy and workplans to build a strong talent pipeline for future hiring needs. This position is responsible for defining, creating and implementing people programs that focus on future talent with technical schools, military programs, higher education institutions, school districts, and non-profit organizations in an effort to support short-term and fulfil the longer-term talent demands of our organization.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Develop deep understanding of business needs in relation to future talent pipeline and community engagement
Develop and lead the local business in our talent pipeline strategy (all functions)
Development and implementation of Talent Advisory Council to review the strategy and objectives
Development and implementation of Talent Ambassador Program that prepares employees to effectively represent Caterpillar in the community
Partner with the HR and leadership team to create a clear plan of talent pipeline activities and events
Represent Caterpillar in various external advisory boards that support the talent pipeline strategy
Coordinate education related activities for the region with the Caterpillar Foundation
Lead local Caterpillar efforts with our participation in Texas FAME
Support the talent acquisition team with select career fairs and other activities
Background / Experience
Excellent interpersonal skills are essential in order to establish strong relationships and influence others inside and outside the organization. The position will seek out, evaluate and build strategic relationships and networks to support the strategy. This role also requires strong internal collaboration with HR and Recruiting teams to develop and execute successful events that build our diversity and employer brand.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of progressively responsible job-related experience are typically required
Project and/or change management experience
Presentation and public speaking experience
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Strong understanding of HR and recruiting practices
Strategy development and long-term planning experience, preferably talent pipeline focused
Proven experience in developing relationships with external partners
Ability to interact with a variety of audiences (production teams, commercial teams, etc)
Strong collaboration skills with global HR teams to deliver HR services
Travel:
- Up to 10% travel is expected
