Job/Position DescriptionCPS FBSS Supervisor I/IIPerforms highly complex (senior-level) consultative services, technical assistance, andsupervisory work. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing an agency programand providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, governmentalagencies, community organizations, or the general public. Supervises the work of others. Worksunder limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independentjudgment.The role of a Family Based Safety Services supervisor is a fast-paced, high energy position requiring daily assessment and decision-making of child safety issues, and permanency. One must possess the initiative to independently organize and manage numerous tasks associated with the position. The FBSS supervisor must ensure that cases are transferred to FBSS in accordance with policy. FBSS supervisors attend case staffings (transfer, legal, etc) and provide recommended next steps. They assist staff with determining child safety associated with Parental Child Safety Placements and family reunification. They ensure documentation around these decisions is thorough and concise. FBSS supervisors ensure safety plans are individualized and associated with immediate child safety.
