Ken Garff Automotive Group Network Engineer in Salt Lake City, Utah

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide user support in the Information Technology Department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and design /understand wireless and wired networks.

  • Provide user and site support on networking issues.

  • Ability to terminate cable ends.

  • Ability to understand and accurately estimate network cabling pathways and distances.

  • Advanced understanding of OSI network model.

  • Advanced understanding of 802.11 wireless networks and their design.

  • Advanced understanding of OSPF

  • Familiarity with Fortinet Products and controls.

  • Familiarity with Aruba switches, Access points and control software a plus

  • Detailed understanding of IP network routing and switching.

    QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Applicants must be 18 years or older and be authorized to work in the U.S., have a valid driver license and professional appearance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A BA/BS degree and/or CCNA/Net+ Certification and six years experience in IT service and technology.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Inventory Control Software, Internet, Microsoft Office Products

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and will occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment with dealership visits. Might require travel up to 30%. Rotating weekend and off hours on-call duties with additional compensation.
