Description Robert Half is trying to fill an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk position with an organization that offers a stimulating work environment among a team of experienced, motivated professionals. The candidate's responsibilities in this role include attending to the general needs of the AP/Finance Department, while working closely and reporting to the Accounting Manager. The primary focus of this role is matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. This Accounts Payable Clerk opportunity will be located in the Rushville, Indiana area and will be a long-term contract / temporary position.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company policies while carrying out daily processes and controls accurately and on time

• Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis

• Complete special projects on an as-needed basis

• Fullfill full-cycle A/P

• Manage validating, recording, and mailing checks and expedite special handling

• Organize, register, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

• Provide internal and external audit assistance as required

• Handle the administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department

• Provide support to internal business partners Requirements - Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

• Spreadsheet and database capabilities

• AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

• 2+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

• Strong familiarity with Cerner Revenue Cycle

• Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

• Microsoft Excel experience preferred

• Check Runs experience preferred

• High attention to detail
