Responsibilities

Pay Scale: $15.00 - $17.40

Shift: Casual Part-Time, Varied

Job Summary:

The COVID-19 Screener will greet and welcome patients, visitors, and employees entering the facility at screening stations. The Screener will screen for COVID-19 symptoms by following established protocols. May also provide general information and directions.

Essential Duties:

  • Greet all patients, visitors, employees, and contract workers entering facility.

  • Ensure that anyone entering the facility is wearing an appropriate face covering.

  • Screen patients, visitors and employees according to established protocols and visitor restrictions.

  • Refer employees who do not pass screening to call Employee Health and their manager.

  • Assist patients and visitors by providing directions, pushing wheelchairs, answering questions, etc.

  • Follow established opening and closing procedures at screening stations.

  • Monitor supply of dated wristbands and dots. Prepare and date blue wristbands and stickers as necessary for current and upcoming shifts.

  • Clean and sanitize screening station and surrounding lobbies throughout shift. Refill large sanitizer pumps when low. Sanitize wheelchairs with purple top wipes.

  • Utilize Vocera devices as needed.

  • Enter approved visitors on the VSB.

  • Establish regular communication with the nursing floors regarding visitor restrictions and other important information; add to the VSB (Visual Smart Board) and discuss with co-screeners as appropriate.

Qualifications

License/Certification:

  • None

Experience:

  • Customer service experience preferred.

  • Communication and interpersonal skills in relating to public and peers.

  • Organizational skills.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED
