The successful applicant will support Dr. Tolulope Olugboji with data analysis, research documentation, technical development, and fieldwork on a targeted study of the African lithosphere. The applicant must demonstrate experience in computational seismology, data science, geophysical instrumentation design, and deployment.
This is a temporary position for summer 2021.
Work closely with Dr. Olugboji and other assigned group members to ensure that the preliminary data analysis and documentation is completed by the summer deadline.
Assist with a proprietary study to investigate the feasibility of implementing a low-cost, sustainable solution to seismic instrumentation in West Africa.
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems for the continuous delivery of earthquake waveform data, metadata, and other derivative data files necessary for the conduct of research by members of the lab.
Maintain software documentation and procedures related to software used in published manuscripts.
B.S degree in the Natural Sciences is required. Training in Geology is desirable. The candidate should also have experience in, or a desire to learn, experimental geochemistry research techniques.
