Position description
The IV technician is an individual who, through didactic and supervised practice, has acquired the knowledge and has developed the skills necessary for the practice of intravenous (IV) placement, troubleshooting, and site care. Performs delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of an RN. Performs IV insertion in the ambulatory and inpatient settings.
Qualifications High school diploma or successful completion of GED.
Additional qualifications
Able to adapt to unpredictable fluctuations in workload volume within the clinical setting.
License or certification
Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $16.92 per hour.

Schedule details 8-hour shifts, day/evenings, every third weekend. 3 out of 6 holidays.
