Role and Responsibilities

The Director of Product Marketing is responsible for strategy, implementation and team oversight related to internal and external product planning, product management, and go to market strategy for the TV business. This position sets the vision and agenda for the product marketing efforts, and drives returns on all marketing investments (ROI). This role drives well-integrated forecasting to ensure that promotions, selling, and inventory are effectively aligned. The Director manages the sales teams, business planning, program development and all aspects of the go-to-market (GTM).

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Complete ownership of all aspects of the US TV business. Full P&L owner.

  • Develop short term and long term strategy to achieve key KPI's for TV business; management, creation and distribution of pricing and promotions

  • Takes ownership of all retail customers. Communicate information, as needed, to account owner within the sales organization.

  • Develops and implements Product/Solutions Go to Market Strategies and formalized plans; ensure key stakeholder alignment (through executive level).

  • Segment M/S review, trend analysis, and promotional roadmap recommendations.

  • Strategically advise and direct short term and longer term strategy for the category that is provided to all support verticals.

  • Assess promotional prices each model should hit each week, based on profitability, inventory levels, competitive positions, M/S trends and forecasts, and line-logic.

  • Analyze inventory to allocate to each specific retailer, based on their current inventory levels, channel growth trends, etc.

  • Analyze channel strategy, go to market, allocation decisions, product planning. Understand competitive landscape and building/modifying strategy accordingly.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in business or marketing preferred

  • 15+ years of professional experience; experience in big brand product marketing or marketing/communications, commercial technologies or consumer electronics preferred

  • Experience with inventory forecasting and sales management leveraging: trends, industry dynamics, competitive analysis, MP targets/goals, etc.

  • Skilled in account management or negotiation to ensure maximum sales within specific accounts while minimizing channel conflict across all retailers.

  • Experience in financial modeling to ensure sales targets are hit while inventory and sales deduction targets are also kept inline.

  • Skilled in developing and communicating executive level presentations

  • Knowledge of TV industry trends, competitors, product knowledge, etc.

  • Ability to access inventory and forecast each specific model to hit MP and M/S targets.

  • Knowledgeable with retail channel dynamics (mass / specialty / club / regional) and strategies for managing each

  • Experience in consumer insights / preferences, and how they translate to product and promotional opportunities.

  • Proven relationship-building skills with developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with all appropriate levels within teams, business units and large organizations, both inside and outside the company

  • Passion for driving growth through innovative product management and GTM strategies, and for solving complex problems

  • Ability to the strategically and translate that into plans and tactical actions, quickly, and thoroughly to prioritize and complete objectives under multiple deadlines while leading others to do the same

  • Exceptional team leader with ability to prioritize competing demands and maximize team performance
