Job Summary:

The Principal Infrastructure Engineer VMware is responsible for development, maintaining and implementing VMware solutions in a Linux based environment to optimize the infrastructure operations. Analyze and identify all or part of a company's existing or new computer (and/or server), peripheral, network, and telecommunications systems requirements, taking into consideration the special technology needs for the project.

We are seeking Principal Infrastructure Engineer VMware to work in our Richardson TX location.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• You will leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to assist with deployment, implementation, modernization, and support of infrastructure solutions.

• You will support software tool customization and automation including deployment of templates, dashboards, and scripts to support program needs.

• You will Design, implement, generate code through scripting tools, test, document, and maintain the system.

• You will assist and integrate of the selected platform provisioning tool such as VMware / Ansible or Terraform as needed.

• You will assist with development of build/test pipeline and integration, optimizing for performance and scalability across on premise computing environments.

• You will provide guidance on resource allocation & utilization.

• You will assist engineers with tool usage and issues, leveraging standards and best practices.

• CompTIA Security + or CISSP or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Basic Qualifications:

• Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics and 8 years of related work experience.

• An Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

• Experience with VMware Installation and Administration.

• Experience with VM provisioning (E.g. VMware / Vsphere).

• Experience with Linux System Administration (E.g. RHEL 6.0+).

• Experience with programming or scripting languages (E.g. Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go).

Preferred Qualifications:

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) Certification.

• Implementing Scaled Agile Frameworks.

• Experience with Server hardware administration, including remote iDRAC/iLO, some basic repair.

• Experience with Various NFS/iSCSI storage appliance experience, operations and administration, some basic repair.

• Willing to work on-site and remote (hybrid) as part of highly diverse team reporting to a hybrid team lead.

• General working knowledge of networks, storage, and virtualization.

• Willing to travel CONUS/OCONUS as necessary.

• Active Passport required for OCONUS travel as necessary.

• Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (E.g. Scrum, SAFe).

• Experience with code repository systems (E.g. ClearCase, Bit Bucket).

• Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

• Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

• Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
