Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Reston, Virginia

Description My client is a publicly traded billion dollar government contractor that is particularly unique in that they boast a flat structure that allows employees of their corporate accounting group to gain heavy visibility with senior leadership. General working hours are 40/week. Summary: This position functions close to a manager level. The core tasks includes leading Corporate accounting processes and reviewing the work of Staff Accountants.

Responsibilities: • Lead major processes and support the submission of Corporate financial information for consolidated financial reporting. Review financial information prepared by others. • Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules. Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts. • Support the implementation of an Oracle Cloud general ledger system. • Support forecasting efforts involving Corporate ledger activity. • Prepare and present analyses for executive stakeholders. Requirements Education & Training Requirements: • BA/BS degree in Accounting or similar • CPA required Experience Requirements: • A minimum of 5 years public or corporate accounting experience Other Requirements: • Must have the ability to establish task-level details and priorities based on a broad objective. • Experience working with teams and collaborating across functional areas. • Interest in IT solutions, IT-enabled processes, and data analytics. • Must possess strong detail oriented communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with senior executives, external auditors and other stakeholders. • Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated by start date unless medical or religious exceptions apply. • Must be willing to work in the CHQ office Monday through Friday during regular business hours
