The Sr. Test Equipment Engineer will work directly with a team of experienced engineers to assist in software test development, equipment design, sourcing, and ongoing support for complex capital test equipment. We are seeking motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in sophisticated testing techniques and data analysis of complex electro-mechanical devices. Typical responsibilities revolve around test equipment (and test method) design/sourcing, troubleshooting, documentation, and qualification.
In this role you will:
Design, prototype, and improve software driven tests – including script development, testing, debugging, and documentation
Write and execute equipment & process validation protocols and reports
Solve electro-mechanical & software related equipment issues for both on-site and off-site equipment
Query and analyze data generated from manufacturing test equipment to drive and execute improvements of process, product, equipment, and test methods
Procure and duplicate complex capital test equipment
Drive improvements in design for manufacturability, design for testing, and equipment output
Coordinate with different teams and coworkers to accomplish tasks

Qualifications
Required:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum of 4 years demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment
Minimum of 2 years demonstrated hands-on experience with software test development
Experience developing testing/analysis software scripts in Python, or other object oriented languages
Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Experience working with & troubleshooting complex equipment, both in-house designed equipment and sourced equipment
Experience with SolidWorks (or related) including creating models, assemblies, and detailed drawings
Self-starter with a proven ability to engage in proactive learning and remain productive with minimal supervision
Good written and verbal communication skills
An empathic individual who engages in and facilitates a high level of teamwork and cross-functional collaboration as needed
Must be highly organized with the ability to lead multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and optimally prioritize projects and tasks
Position will be located in Redwood City, CA and may require up to 10% travel
Preferred:
Advanced Degree is a plus
Experience designing, developing & sourcing complex equipment, both in-house designed equipment and sourced equipment
Experience with electrical engineering or databases (SQL)
Experience with JIRA
Familiarity with C++ and Object Oriented development concepts is a plus
Medical device or highly regulated industry experience
