Kaiser Permanente Director, Health Education in Redwood City, California

Directs the CSA comprehensive health education services across the continuum of care and in the community. Manages the overall operations of the department, ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. Consults with administrators, physicians, and staff on health education policies and preventive health strategies.

Essential Functions:- Directs the design, implementation, and evaluation of multi-disciplinary projects which improves accessibility, increases member satisfaction, and controls costs in alignment with TPMGs strategic goals and objectives.- Ensures programs are consistently applied across the CSA. Identifies health education strategies, interventions and resource allocation.- Defines, develops, implements measures for evaluating in house and non-Kaiser intervention/health education services.- Ensures active dialogue between physicians and staff to facilitate program development.- Consults with regional health education and KFH to assure health education programs are consistent, high quality, and serves the needs of our members and meets the regional mandated initiatives.- Develops and administers a CSA business plan which identifies, generates, and accesses resources from a variety of sources in order to enhance program offerings, quality, and access.- Collaborates with the community and government relations as well as local, private, and public agencies assessing community education needs, develops priorities and defines strategic community partnerships.- Ensures all intervention/programs comply with regulatory agencies.- Researches, identifies, and implements best practices.- Develops systems to identify quality improvements and evaluate programs and to rapidly disseminate newly developed courses and successful existing programs.- Participates in health and wellness council to develop global health and wellness across the CSA.- Manages the overall CSA operations of the health education department, supervises staff, and ensures they provide the highest quality of services to members, develops/maintains the budget, and writes grant proposals.

Basic Qualifications:Experience- Minimum four (4) years of supervisory or management experience required.- Minimum ten (10) years of experience as a health educator, with increasing responsibility in a hospital/health care setting.Education- Master's degree or OR six (6) years of experience in public health, health care services, or behavioral sciences required.- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.License, Certification, Registration- N/A Additional Requirements:- Previous experience with budget management.- Demonstrated experience in program planning, implementation, evaluation, and education training.- Demonstrated knowledge of behavior change, adult learning, group process theory and application.- Knowledge of PC applications required.- Strong interpersonal communication skills.- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
