Microsoft HealthNext just announced a strategic partnership with theBroad Institute of Harvard and MIT and Verily Life Sciencesto bringTerra ( )to Azure. Terra isan open,extensible,scalable,andsecureplatform forbiomedicalinformatics and data science research. The partnership is committed to expandingon Terra’s open, modular, and interoperable platform, with the addition of the Microsoft Azure cloud, data and AI technologies, global capabilities and health & life science customers and partners.

We’re looking for an innovative, collaborative, highly motivated DevOps Software Engineering to work side-by-side with other engineers, data scientists, and researchers to deliver tools, services, and experiences to support biomedical research, development of precision medicines, and clinical decision making.

Location: Redmond WA or Boston, MA


  • Support the development, testing, release, and maintenance of the core cloud services and components for Biomedical Platforms, including first-party services, OSS tools, and CI/CD pipelines

  • Help ensure the security, privacy, and compliance requirements are met for the team’s production services, applications, and tools

  • Develop and maintain the automated build, test, and deployment tools and processes

  • Help maintain, monitor, and debuglive services


Required Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline

  • 5+ years of software development experience with C#, Java, C++, or other object-oriented programming languages

  • 1+ years of hands-on experience and solid understanding of open-source tools and technologies

  • Experience using Terraform and/or writing and deploying Azure ARM

  • Demonstrated productivity and effectiveness building CI/CD pipelines from scratch using Azure Dev Ops, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools

  • Ability tolearn quickly, collaborate with partner teams, lead technical design discussions, and promote engineering excellence across the team

  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Development experience with multiple cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, and AWS)

  • Experience working with security, privacy, and compliance standards like SOC, ISO, FedRAMP, and HIPPA

  • Basic understanding of service infrastructure, frameworks, and technologies such as Azure Cloud Services, ASP.NET Core, .Net Framework, and OSS

  • Good understanding of Kubernetes and Docker, with experience building, publishing, and running Docker images

  • Experience working with health and/or lifesciencesdata and technologiesis a plus
