The Product Lead role, part of the Leadership Development team will be responsible for pushing the boundaries of Leadership Development to build the skills and capabilities for today and tomorrow across our organizational Leaders (level 65+). This individual will collaborate closely with Global Talent Management, the Talent Management community, the Solution Design Studio, business stakeholders and external experts to identify the leadership needs of Microsoft and this population. Informed by our needs and the latest external thinking then take learning programs from strategy to implementation. This requires the ability to develop and drive detailed project plans and budgets effectively managing and partnering with key stakeholders; resulting in the creation of exceptional learning solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Take a systems-thinking, data driven approach to identify learner needs that make the biggest difference.

  • Apply the latest in neuroscience and behavioral sciences to guide the development of signature, leading-edge solutions as part of a broader evidence-based approach to delivery.

  • Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure understanding and collective buy-in on solutions and approach including establishing and maintaining rapport with key decision makers and influencers

  • Own the GL&D relationships with our key University partners to manage this process

  • Develop and manage full-scale project plans and schedules across multiple projects and workstreams to meet these needs

  • Report, manage, mitigate project issues, risks, and escalations, and ensure deliverable signoff. Proactively troubleshoot issues and drive solutions

  • Facilitate budget process for multiple projects

  • Define project tasks and resource requirements; assemble and coordinate project team

  • Lead individuals, teams, and multiple groups

  • Meet tight deadlines, move projects forward independently, and communicate internally across many stakeholders

  • Ensure and oversee launch of fully-functional deliverables on time, within budget, and within agreed-upon scope

  • Leverage internal and external research and data to inform priorities, identify solutions and measure effectiveness; be data driven and able to tell data driven stories

  • Maintain quality control to ensure that all work meets our high standards

  • Partner effectively across Learning Operations and Infrastructure, Talent, Learning & Insights (TLI), other HR COEs and teams and other learning teams to ensure seemly project and change management across the work to be done and in the ROB for the HR team.

Qualifications

Bachelors or master’s degree with strong focus on Project Management and Adult Education. With a minimum of 10+ years of directly applicable experience (organizational development, learning & development, talent management) or an equivalent combination of advanced training experience.

  • Well-organized, able to set priorities and be detail-oriented

  • Experience in learning & development, strategic thinking and change management

  • Knowledge and application of adult learning theory, behavioral sciences and the neuroscience of learning.

  • Ability of taking a systems-thinking approach to determine the highest priority designs that will be relevant and durable to learner needs

  • Excellent data analysis skills

  • A track record of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, within budget, on time; meeting all quality requirements and delivering at scale

  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate a multi-functional, learning solution development teams

  • Ability to work collaboratively across various functions in an uncertain, constantly changing environment driving alignment across team, functional and organizational boundaries to achieve shared outcomes

  • Highly effective and efficient in situations involving uncertainty or lack of information.

  • Strong ability to work independently with little manager oversight, and exercises exceptional judgment when interpreting issues, problems or opportunities

  • Displays exceptional skills - verbal, written and listening - for understanding. Able to tailor communication style to specific audiences to effectively influence and build trusted partnerships at all levels up to executive thereby acting as a catalyst for change and creating shared accountability toward business and people priorities

  • Excellent presentation skills – both in creating executive decks and presenting them

  • Strong ability to recognize, adjust and adapt to environmental or business/cultural nuances, and displays emotional maturity in all situations. Diplomatic and comfortable in sharing ideas and solving problems in a collaborative environment

  • Actively looks for ways to improve processes and make things better

  • Deep business acumen demonstrating the ability to analyze key business drivers, integrate insights into priorities, effectively scope problems and make decisions with conviction to drive impactful change.

  • Evidence of continuous learning, self-reflection and positively embracing challenges.

  • Ability to facilitate groups and lead difficult dialogues in groups undergoing transition.
