Microsoft Corporation Business Manager - Turn 10 Studios in Redmond, Washington

Turn 10 Studios, the developer and cultivators of the Forza video game franchise, including both the award-winning Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon game series’, is looking for an experienced Business Manager with a demonstrated ability to deploy financial and other skills in the course of business to join our business management team & function. The team’s role is to manage the financial & business affairs of the studio, including budgeting & spend management, forecasting and reporting, business modeling and opportunity analysis, and vendor contract management. As a member of the Business Management team, the Business Manager will be responsible for supporting these functions, work with other individuals on the team, and play an active role in working with the Studio’s producers and business partners on all business related aspects in running a successful game studio.

Turn 10’s Business Management team supports two AAA game studios; Turn 10 Studios in Redmond, Washington, USA and Playground Games in Leamington Spa, UK. The team is responsible for partnering with Executive Producers and other studio leads to run their business, including modeling opportunities, driving business processes, supporting negotiations of supplier & partner contracts, managing publishing relationships, setting budgets, and providing financial planning & analysis.

The ideal candidate will bring relevant or leverageable experience across a similar range of financial and business management functions. You’ll foster an environment of collaboration between business management and business partners to develop, optimize, and implement innovative business models that reflect studio strategy.


  • Partner with Producers and business partners to provide first-line business management and guidance

  • Assist in driving monthly business rhythms including results discussions, reviews, and reporting with studio leadership

  • Collaborate with product teams to drive implementation of product strategies, manage operating expenses, and deliver analysis to help the business make investment and product development decisions, delivering quality products on-time and on-budget

  • Become a subject-matter expert for KPIs used to measure & manage Forza products

  • Work with studio producers on new products and initiatives and P&L forecasting for new ventures

  • Research, analyze and make recommendations regarding current market trends and competitive activity to identify new product/program opportunities. Work in business intelligence to help form comprehensive, actionable BI queries and plans. Collaborate with distributed resources on tactical BI implementations, including Live Operations for games

  • Collaborate with central finance team on monthly financial close, revenue & expense reporting, and headcount management

  • Partner with multi-functional support groups including A/P, royalty accounting, marketing, and finance

  • Identify and implement more efficient financial tracking process across the business



  • 5 years of progressive financial experience directly supporting business partners in a business management, finance or similar role

  • Experience managing P&Ls and costs within a world-class organization

  • Superior communication skills, including an ability to collaboratively empathize & partner with stakeholders directly and within a functional matrix

  • Experience with financial modeling in a game development, technology, entertainment, and / or publishing business

  • Ability to drive change and improve key business processes and financial models

  • BA/BS in fields such as finance, business, or marketing.

  • Gaming and / or entertainment experience preferred, but not required
