Overview: The primary duty of a Store Manager is overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store and ensuring its smooth functioning. The Store Manager’s focus will be on providing excellent customer service, driving sales, managing the staff, and maximizing profitability. Store Managers are the leader of the store, responsible for maintaining a positive working environment, and ensuring the store meets or exceeds its sales targets while maintaining high customer satisfaction levels.

Key Duties & Responsibilities: The Store Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead by example and motivate the sales team to achieve sales targets and maximize store revenue.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Monitor customer feedback and address any concerns promptly and professionally.

  • Assist customers with their product inquiries, financing options, and ensure a pleasant shopping experience.

  • Ability to assist with merchandising and in store set up, which includes but is not limited to moving, building, cleaning, and maintaining showroom components.

  • Recruit, train, retain, and develop store team members, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and responsibilities to perform their functions.

  • Set performance targets, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback and coaching to enhance team performance.

  • Schedule staff shifts effectively to ensure adequate coverage during peak business hours and busy periods per company expectations.

  • Ensure timely completion of company mandated trainings, including compliance and safety.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and a strong customer-focused approach.

  • Oversee inventory management, ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained, and merchandise displays are attractive and well-maintained.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and security measures.

  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all credit policies, procedures, and government regulations.

  • Implement effective loss prevention strategies to minimize shrinkage and theft.

  • Train the sales team on sales techniques, promotional offerings, and financing solutions for customers.

  • Ability to maximize each sales opportunity by offering all applicable services, products, and attachments during all customer interactions.

  • Effectively T/O deals for all sales associates when needed.

  • Ensure effective call centers and sales huddles are performed daily per company guidelines.

  • Utilize the gap report, class category report, and scorecard to effectively manage business.

  • Manager must be able to speak to current business trends and review reporting daily.

  • Perform all job functions with a high degree of integrity and honesty.

  • Comply with reasonable requests from management to perform other duties and responsibilities not listed above.

  • Required Experience:

  • 5-10 years of retail leadership experience or related field experience.

  • Strong understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.

  • Must be goal oriented and self-motivated.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve sales targets.

  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward customers and other associates.

  • Preferred Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Store Manager or similar leadership role, preferably in a furniture and appliance store or a similar retail environment.

  • Customer Service background.

  • Knowledge of credit financing options and the ability to explain them to customers effectively.

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, retail management, or a related field is advantageous.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of sales principles and customer service practice.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and staff.

  • Work a flexible schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays) regular attendance is necessary.

  • Ability to listen, convey a product’s benefits, exude confidence and self-assuredness to all customers.

  • Organized and detail oriented.

  • Able to multi-task and shift priorities, as required.

  • Handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds or more.

  • Maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public

  • Thorough follow up and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to overcome objections and influence customer behavior.

  • Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a retail store environment.
