Merck Senior Specialist, Data Management & Reporting in Rahway, New Jersey
This role will work cross-functionally with a variety of areas to maximize the value the Operations Data Layer provides to the organization primarily in Data Management and Database Reporting. This includes helping to facilitate and understand requirements, defining solution functionality, designing solutions as well as developing and enhancing solutions over time. The Team member role will be hands-on and have demonstrated experience in maintaining the EDI Sales and other Reference/Master data in support of multiple species for all Sales Reporting and Business Intelligence needs.
Maintain Standard pricing across all species at multiple Units of Measure
Be the Customer Master Data Steward for mapping customers internally and assist in deduplication of customer data
Troubleshoot and develop a long-term fix for ongoing EDI pricing exception and AHN-SAP mapping issues
Investigate and create a Data Modification Request to update incorrect EDI Sales data in Datamart
Troubleshoot and recommend any fixes for downstream applications
Support and enhance existing PL/SQL Stored Procedures and Functions for automating the loading and validation of all Master data entities in the centralized Master Data Repository
Develop and execute automated scripts to provide data and context to incoming field requests from Salesforce system
Be responsible for Master data updates and enhancements especially with data shared with external partners
Database Development and Reporting:
Build Database views for master data and sales reporting via internal applications and data visualization tools
Support Spotfire/Power BI dashboards in self-service mode primarily fixing data issues and enhancing backend database views in collaboration with IT
Create and automate SQL scripts for providing reports/ data to internal (Sales, Marketing, Finance) and Pricing Portal for Distribution
Create UNIX scripts for automating delivery of operational reports
Bachelor’s degree Required in Computer Science or Engineering
Required Skills and Experience:
At least 7 years of relevant work experience
Experience working in tools and applications such as SQL Loader, Toad, Workbench for AWS Redshift, SQL Developer for Oracle
Proficiency in using Programming Languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle DDL, Unix Shell Scripts
Knowledge of Oracle Databases
Exposure to Data Stewardship tools like Informatica
Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills balanced with a creative mindset
Ability to facilitate continuous improvement efforts collaboratively with team and peers
Self-starter and be able to handle multiple tasks and priorities
Work collaboratively across teams to design and build solutions with the IT department
Provide support to other team members to trouble shoot and resolve data related issues
Provide end user support for handling data accuracy and quality related questions and for escalating technical issues to appropriate IT support individuals

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Expected salary range:
$107,600.00 - $169,400.00
