We are looking for a T-Repairs Service Mechanic based in Gold Coast, Queensland.

About you

You will be the face of the Otis brand and responsible for installing lifts, escalators, and travellators in compliance with the relevant codes and OTIS specifications and procedures.

This role is covered under the OTIS Elevator Company Queensland EBA rate of pay plus penalties and allowances.

You will be responsible for completing regular and scheduled electrical and mechanical service and maintenance work for Otis customers' elevator and escalator equipment, working closely with other Installers, Electricians, Adjusters, Field Engineers, and Construction Coordinators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs Service, Maintenance, and T work/repair in accordance with relevant job procedures, technical articles, and operations manuals.

  • Comply with the company's Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures, including reporting any conditions which may impact on the environment or any employee.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and help facilitate continuous improvement to satisfy the customers.

  • Electrical and Mechanical training to apprentices and sub-contractors.

  • Perform repairs and control modifications on Elevators and Escalators in accordance with all relevant Codes, including SAA Lift Code AS1735 and the relevant Award and/or Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.

  • Completes Timesheets and work orders on Handtool on a daily and weekly basis.

  • Coordinate and liaise with the “T” and “O” Repair team and area subcontractors.

  • Standby and after-hour call-back coverage and Assist with callback/repair-related activities as required, such as fault finding, re-roping, hoisting, rigging, and breakdowns

  • Communicate and liaise with customers and other external stakeholders on sites to deliver Otis and customer needs

  • Assist with any other task as requested by the area Service Manager.

Key working relationships - Internal and External

  • Works closely with the Field Engineers, Service Mechanics, and Branch and Operations Managers.

  • Liaises with functional management at other Otis entities and headquarters.

  • Represents the Company's relationships with major customers, suppliers, and the public.

  • Sales Team: Sales Account Representatives, Managers, and Coordinators (where relevant).

  • External stakeholders include Customers, Building Owners, Managers, Independent and Government.

What you will need to be successful

  • Have Mechanical or Electrical background/experience and is trade qualified as a Fitter and Electrician.

  • Has 2 years of experience in the elevator industry and proven ability to work safely as part of a team or independently, depending on requirements.

  • Enjoys communicating with various levels of stakeholders and working closely with others in the field.

  • Solutions-oriented, independent, and well-organized.

  • Willing to travel in & out of the region and able to work unsupervised.

  • Has the ability to perform knowledge transfer on information and skills through training.

  • Able to plan and prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner.
