What does a great “ Cloud Engineer, Advisor I ” do?
As a Cloud Engineer, you will be a part of the Fiserv’s Technical Services team responsible for deploying cloud-based infrastructure solutions for Fiserv external customers. Working closely with internal technology teams, the Cloud Engineer will lead the technical effort to deliver infrastructure solutions that are technically sound, resilient to failure, operationally supportable, and meets the requirements of the business. You will be tasked with being the subject matter expert for our cloud environments and be part of a team that builds and supports new applications in the cloud. Delivery of the cloud solution requires a variety of skills, such as: cloud architecture, network, security, and hands-on configuration of the cloud infrastructure. A high degree of collaboration with development and other teams is required to provide right level of agility within a defined delivery process.
The role is required to be performed from Fiserv India offices providing overlap with US working hours, hence working from 2PM to 11PM (IST) shift for all 5 working days in a week.
What you will do:
Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to implement highly available infrastructure solutions for a multitude of cloud technologies
Act as an Azure/AWS technical resource for the hosted operations team
Gather feedback from the cloud teams on areas of improvement and provide solutions utilizing Azure/AWS
Serve as a point of escalation for complex Azure/AWS cases
Participate in inter-departmental planning meetings on suggested solutions for existing issues as well as systemic and process improvements
Work with internal team on identifying pain points in Azure/AWS deployments and configuration and ways to alleviate them
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and escalate systems issues
Participate in automation initiatives to achieve operational maturity
Maintain and enhance current client environment configurations
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior cloud engineers
Participate in an on-call rotation
Implement and maintain systems security measures
Provide support for various internal IT projects
Use the core infrastructure engineering principles of change management, monitoring, emergency response, capacity planning, and production readiness reviews to run the infrastructure
Partner with security engineers and develop plans and automation to aggressively and safely respond to new risks and remediate security vulnerabilities
What you will need to have:
A successful Cloud Engineer will possess the following key skills/behaviors:
Deep understanding and experience in Azure/AWS Monitor which will include configuring and maintaining the following: diagnostic settings, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and writing Log Analytics queries via Kusto Query Language
Expert working with Azure/AWS App Service - diagnose and remediate resource contention issues and Identify failures in application logs
Experience in Azure/AWS Resource Manager (ARM) Templates
Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools such as Octopus Deploy
Strong understanding of the OSI Model and how it relates to cloud computing
Expert level in managing the lifecycle of IaaS VMs - troubleshoot VM boot issues, Backup/Restore VM and Disks (Snapshot and Recovery Vault), Imaging, Resizing and Scaling VMs
Team player, strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with customers, vendors and partners, and across all levels of the organization
Well organized, attentive to details and able to meet demanding deadlines
5-7 years of professional work experience as cloud engineer on a highly technical team
3-5 years of experience with the Azure/AWS platform
1+ years of hands-on experience with Windows or Linux administration, Engineering, and Automation
Experience with Azure/AWS Policy and Security Center
