AECOM Offshore / Onboard Scientific Survey Scientist in Providence, Rhode Island

Job Summary
AECOM has an immediate need for two (2) Offshore Scientific Survey Scientists to work aboard Research Vessels in the New England / New York / Long Island Sound area and perform as Logistics Coordinator / Client Representative Coordinators supporting Offshore Wind Lease Area Permitting and Study. This position requires the capability to deploy for 21-28 days, work 7 days/week/12 hours/day; full onboard accommodations will be provided. Extended duty surveys available and relief after 28-day deployment provided as needed.
The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Provide technical oversight of onboard sampling and surveying work
Review sea-floor mapping
Review work and compare with compliance guidelines and regulations

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Marine Biology or similar or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
2+ years of relevant experience to include offshore service as a Client Representative or similar offshore situations
Pre-employment "Fit to Work' screening required (candidate must meet client's medical screening and vessel requirements. Includes OGUK Medical or similar screening)

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Marine Sciences (Biology, Geophysics, Geotechnical, or Engineering) is preferred
5+ years of relevant experience preferred, to include offshore service as a Client Representative or similar offshore situations
Demonstrated experience with offshore Health, Safety, Security, and Environment preferred
Experience working on vessels offshore is highly preferred
Offshore Survival Training, preferably BOISET and/or HUET desired
Possession of a Transportation Workers Identification Card helpful.
Candidates with fisheries, marine mammal and/or sea turtle protected species observer experience helpful
Strong written and verbal communication skills desired
