To achieve this goal, the CHEE FW/SW Innovations team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for seasoned engineers with a strong passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated Principal SW Program Manager with a proven track record of defining, developing, and delivering SW and Firmware solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for creating the SW/HW/FW workflow infrastructure, delivering on infrastructure releases, and reporting status to the leadership team on the health of development. In addition to this, your responsibilities will also include developing SW and firmware features where you will be defining these features, partnering with development and costing, and leading the development efforts towards release. We also work in a geographically diverse environment. This candidate should have demonstrated abilities to effectively work with teams around the world with effectiveness.

As a seasoned program manager, you must have a strong desire, passion, and ability to understand customer needs and a willingness to develop holistic approaches to product solutions that delight our customers and exceed their expectations. You should also understand hardware, firmware, telemetry, algorithms, SW quality, and an unyielding passion for the customer.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years Program Management experience

  • Knowledge of building low-level SW to run HW e.g. Firmware, BIOS, EC, … etc.

  • Experience working as a SW Developer

Bonus qualifications:

  • Project experience working across hardware and low-level (driver, firmware, kernel mode) software teams

  • Experience with Cloud Security & Compliance strategy and requirement creation

  • Data center HW/SW project experience from inception to go live

  • Experience working with software code in one or more languages such as C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.

  • Exceptional organization and project management skills, e.g. experience with agile project management methodology, TFS, JIRA or similar

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, prioritize multiple strategic and tactical options, and drive issues to closure with a high bar on quality

  • Experience working with various Software development life cycles

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
