The Specialty Care Center is a multispecialty group practice within the hospital, promoting the optimal care of adults and children with lifelong neurological and neuromuscular conditions, along with various other programs and services designed to provide quality healthcare and assistance to those living with various complex medical conditions. Service areas include: Orthopedics, Muscular dystrophy, Neurology including treatment of spasticity and Parkinson's Disease, Bariatrics, Suboxone (follow-up alcohol and drug rehabilitation), Pediatric development, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology and Concussion management. Job Details Our Clinic Assistant will: Function under the supervision and delegation authority of the licensed provider, while performing clinical and other supporting patient care tasks Collect and document patient information, clinical data and other relevant information such as vital signs, height/weight, allergies, active medication list, chief complaint, pain screen and current symptoms. Collect, prepare and process laboratory specimens for on-site and remote-site testing. Track and enter results in medical record. Perform quality control for waived testing and log maintenance. Perform, prepare for, and assist with in-office procedures, which may include but not limited to EKG, Holter monitor and other ancillary testing. Schedule procedures, referrals and specialty services and testing. Obtain prior authorizations on specific medications, diagnostic testing/imaging, as ordered by provider. Provide and reinforce appropriate age-specific patient education, health information materials and community resources, as directed. Identify patient’s need for additional information, and refer to RN or appropriate practitioner. Perform time-sensitive delegated tasks, which includes, but not limited to, the review and monitoring of EHR messages. Order, stock, and maintain exam rooms, special order items and supply storage areas using par levels of supplies, medications, linens, forms and equipment. Monitor expiration dates and take action accordingly. Recognize usage trends affecting unit supplies and make recommendations for adjustments. Partner with an interdisciplinary team to ensure efficient patient flow and uphold an environment of patient safety and satisfaction. What you’ll bring: Passion for Patient Care Education: High School Diploma or GED required Certification: Certified Medical Assistant & Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Salary Range USD $25.66 - USD $30.00 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
