In this role, you have the opportunity to
The Cash Application Specialist ensures all payments (cash, checks and credit cards) from payers, facilities and customers are posted accurately and within established timeframes. Resolves posting issues which occur during the system auto-posting process and verifies accuracy
You are responsible for:
Posting and application of daily payments to customer accounts
Research and resolve unidentified or unapplied cash
Reconciliation of accounts of posting discrepancies
Reconciliation of payment remittances; verifies total number of payments and dollar amounts entered into billing software balances to remit
Applies adjustments and transfers payment responsibility where appropriate
Assists in the month-end close process by ensuring all processing is completed within the allotted timeframe
Generates, reviews and publishes daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly cash posting reports; provides input and recommendations to leadership based on review
Assists in training and responds to posting questions from Cash Application Specialists
Reviews and verifies adjustments processed by Reimbursement Specialist
Reviews payment posting batch and resolves balance discrepancies
Responds to inquiries from internal customers related to posting questions and discrepancies
Participates in process improvement projects aimed at improving productivity, quality payment postings
Attend HIPAA training and other training sessions as they arise
Performance of additional duties as assigned
You are a part of:
Revenue Cycle Management– RespirTech
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field or four or more years successful experience in accounts receivables, collections and general accounting
Minimum of 2 year successful experience as a Cash Application Specialist in RespirTech
Knowledge of accounts receivable
Knowledge of office administration and procedures
Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedure
Proficient in relevant computer applications
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal
Attention to detail
Strong knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software
Strong math skills
Demonstrated customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
