Pike Corporation Regional Safety Supervisor in Plainfield, Indiana
Position Summary: The Regional Safety Supervisor position is responsible for managing relationships with assigned customers, implementation and execution of company and customer safety programs and initiatives and responsible for field safety supervision and customer safety coordination. The Regional Safety Supervisor is accountable for operational, administrative, technical, and financial components of assigned job responsibilities.
Essential Functions:
Support, lead, and implement both Burford’s Construction & Utility safety programs, policies, and procedures, with a focus on driving regional consistency
Engage with workforce by making regular crew visits to ensure compliance of safety programs, policies, and procedures
Provide training and oversight ranging from General Foremen down to Groundmen
Coordinate and lead all new hire onboarding, orientation training, and other field level trainings as required
Assist and communicate with all levels of leadership with Burford’s Construction as required
Assist in communication and implementation of new software programs, technologies, etc. pertaining to safety program(s)
Present/communicate on safety related topics to management and utility customers
Demonstrate modern climbing and rigging techniques in the field
Support personnel in emergency/storm response, ensuring compliance and safe work practices
Other duties as assigned
Other Requirements:
3 years safety management experience specific to Utility Vegetation Management (UVM) OR 5-years of experience in Arboricultural field operations.
Bachelor’s Degree in safety management, Environmental, Forestry, Risk Management and or Health & Safety or related field preferred but not required
Knowledge of all applicable safety rules and regulations – OSHA, DOT, ANSI Z133
Knowledge of Federal, State, & Local regulations relating to UVM
Knowledge of Herbicides and their application as it related to UVM and Integrated Vegetation Management (IVM)
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
Ability to collect and analyze safety data, identifying trends, job behaviors, etc. and providing mitigation plans to achieve preferred safety results
Strong leadership skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and motivational skills
Detail oriented, experience with a critical eye when it comes to workplace safety
Able and willing to travel across assigned territory and other regions as requested
Bilingual, English & Spanish preferred
