JMT is seeking a motivated individual who desires increasing responsibilities in designing, managing and marketing a variety of projects. The successful candidate will be well-versed across the water resources discipline with demonstrated design and management experience in drainage and stormwater management design, modeling, and permitting with the supporting capabilities to perform a variety of design tasks in the civil engineering and environmental permitting field.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Effectively oversee and mentor developing staff

  • Perform and manage a variety of water resource related engineering design and permitting projects, including:

  • develop roadway and site grading plans

  • drainage design projects

  • stormwater management design

  • erosion and sedimentation control/ NPDES permitting projects

  • construction staging and sequencing plans

  • watershed studies

  • hydrologic and hydraulic analysis

  • design/inspection of traditional and Green Stormwater Infrastructure and stormwater BMPs in both urban and rural environments

  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, outside consultants, government agencies, project stakeholders and JMT staff from multiple locations and technical disciplines is expected

  • Engage in business development activities such as proposal writing and fostering existing and developing new market opportunities

Required Skills

  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.

  • General understanding of design and plan preparation using Inroads/Microstation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Various applicable drainage, storm water management and watershed modeling software packages, and proficiency in MS Office

Required Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in water resource engineering design and management with an emphasis in green stormwater infrastructure, drainage, stormwater management and erosion and sedimentation control design

  • BSCE from ABET accredited engineering program

  • Pennsylvania Registered Professional Engineer or the ability to acquire such license in the state within six months of employment

  • Experience with PWSA, ALCOSAN, and PennDOT design and project delivery including GSI, PCSM, ESPC and NPDES permitting

  • Familiarity with PWSA’s City-wide “Green First” plan and ALCOSAN’s Green Revitalization of Our Waterways (GROW) program

  • H&H Modeling experience including the application of HEC-HMS, WMS, HEC-2, HEC-RAS, and XPSWMM

  • Experience in watershed modeling (ACT 167), MS4 permitting, and TMDLs

  • A working knowledge of Federal, State and local jurisdiction permitting regulations is required

  • Familiarity with the policies, publications and practices of PennDOT, PA Turnpike, PADEP, PA County Conservation Districts, ACT 167 Plans and related PA Municipal Storm Water Ordinances

  • Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) and/or Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) preferred

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
