Legal Assistant - Trial / Finance & Restructuring

We are seeking aTrial / Finance & Restructuring Legal Assistantto join our growing Phoenix office. As a valued team member, you will provide legal administrative support in a fast-paced environment to attorneys and paralegals. Do you love working with clients? This is a hybrid position, which will require at least 4 days/week in the office.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative legal support to attorneys.

  • Communicate and work with clients, service providers, and employees within the Firm.

  • Proofread, edit, format, and draft electronic correspondence, pleadings, discovery, briefs and other memorandum for accuracy to ensure a high quality product.

  • Assist with time entry, opening new matters, drafting engagement letters and audit responses, and process expense reimbursements.

  • Maintain attorney calendars by scheduling appointments, conference calls, meetings, and travel arrangements.

  • Process invoices for practice group timekeepers as directed.

  • File legal documents electronically in both state and federal courts.

  • Review docket and coordinate with attorneys and paralegals on upcoming dates and deadlines.

  • File paper and electronic documents and information promptly and accurately, working primarily in our document management system.

  • Schedule couriers, court reporters and witnesses.

  • Answer telephones and proactively follow up when necessary.

  • Provide support and assist other legal assistants with work overflow and vacation coverage as needed.

  • Proactively solve problems and provide a high level of customer service to our attorneys and clients.

  • May be requested to perform other duties not mentioned above.

What we’re looking for:

  • At least 4 years of legal assistant experience.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong client service focus and skills.

  • Experience with Federal and State Court filing systems

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a highly demanding environment with tight time frames.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

  • Strong attention to details, proofreading and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work as a team member and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.

  • Occasional flexibility regarding work hours (overtime may be requested).

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
