Job Purpose:

Provide administrative support to billing department.


Essential Job Functions

  • Review daily charges for accuracy and integrity prior to creating claim.

  • Process medical record requests to include invoicing and final submission either via fax, mail or email.

  • Completes work within authorized time to assure compliance with departmental standards.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of, and supports, organizational mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.

  • Responsible for sorting, collating and processing of incoming and outgoing mail.

  • Responsible for sending paper claims to all insurance companies and printed statements to patients.

  • Processing secondary claims.

  • Dropping off outgoing mail to the mail processing facility.

  • Following up on requests for information, to include, but not limited to, W9s and returned mail in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for organizing and stamping weekly deposits.

  • Ensure accurate and legible scanning into the system prior to shredding of any documentation.

  • Monitoring supply inventory.

  • Complete and turn in a weekly productivity form.

  • Performing other duties to support overall effectiveness of the department.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all information.

Minimum Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision

  • Working knowledge of computers and office equipment

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional work environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, scanners and photocopiers.
