Dow has an exciting opportunity for anAnalytics Specialist, accelerating the Diamond Systems Analytics (DSA) team's mission to translate data into profit! A successful candidate will be the primary focal point for 2 key DSA Services: Power BI and SAP AFO. This entails consulting, training, and supporting Dow employees in their usage of these tools; however, it will also entail occasionally building solutions in these tools on behalf of others.

The preferred location for this position is Auburn, MI or Collegeville, PA. However, other locations in Michigan or Pennsylvania may also be considered as this role is open to flexible and hybrid work arrangements with periodic in-person collaboration at our Auburn, MI or Collegeville, PA sites.

Job Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Act as a primary focal point for several analytics services, primarily (but not limited to) SAP AFO and Microsoft Power BI, in partnership with the Senior Service Leader.

  • A majority of the role is focused on consulting, training, and supporting Dow employees utilizing these services.

  • Plan & facilitate Office Hours.

  • Maintain service SOP’s and identify opportunities for service improvement.

  • Learn various Diamond Systems Analytics services and be able to recommend the appropriate path for stakeholders.

  • Stay abreast of latest news related to Power BI and SAP AFO and potential ramifications for Dow.

  • Act as an analytics evangelist, championing Dow's data and analytics culture change. We have seen consistent year-over-year growth in Power BI since 2017. We are anticipating continued growth of the platform over the foreseeable future and this role will play a key part in that growth.

  • Occasional travel (depending on your location) post-COVID.

For those curious as to whether this is a technical or functional role, it varies by interaction. Some could be fairly technical in nature, others could be purely process-related. We are looking for a candidate that understands the fundamentals of analytics development. If you’re looking for a purely-process related role, this role may not be the best fit.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent work experience OR relevant military experience at a U.S. E6 rank or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher is required.

  • A minimum of 2 years analytics experience is required.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Looking for a self-starter. The role can be ambiguous, and the products (specifically, Power BI) change monthly. There is much to keep up on and evaluate as it pertains to how Dow should/should not use certain features.

  • Experience in change management or service management efforts.
