The opportunity
Territory: This position will manage the Eastern Region - USA. The role is based remote and preferred location is near a major airport in the Eastern time zone.
A fast paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial role that is responsible for leading, planning and directing the strategy and implementation of the national sales plan in line with the organizational objectives. As the regional sales director, the incumbent is responsible for all aspects of leading and developing the Key Account Managers (KAMs) and for the organizations overall successful sales performance.
The successful candidate will be a key commercial leader in the institutional sales organization and will be expected to play a critical role in driving the growth of the business. This role will collaborate closely with the director of national sales in the development and implementation of the national sales plan identifying key business opportunities, pulling through contract access and expanding the Teva portfolio for generic injectables, oral solids, biosimilar and targeted Teva brand products in key accounts.
How you’ll spend your day
Attract, motivate and retain high performing individuals for the KAM (Key Account Management) team
Responsible for developing the team in the best-in-class account management capabilities
Provide coaching and support for team members
Have extensive knowledge of the generic and brand pharmaceutical industry, contracting, distribution/wholesaler channels, pricing structures, chargeback programs, institutional sales, group purchasing organizations (GPOs) and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs)
The regional associate director will also be responsible for developing long-term relationships with IDN accounts while collaborating with various internal strategic partners such as: Sales, Marketing, VEOs, RAMs, Brand Team, Finance, National Accounts and Pricing/Contract teams.
Provide management with quarterly updates on the progress of the KAM team
Your experience and qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree
A minimum of 5 years in pharmaceutical sales
A minimum of 3 years hospital sales
A minimum of 3 years people management
History of superior sales results and strong business acumen
Experience working in teams
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree
Experience in institutional, IDN account management or generic injectable pharmaceutical sales
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Up to 60% Travel is required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional:
- Sitting for extended periods of time at work station or mobile equipment.
Visual Acuity:
- Perform activities such as computer work, preparing and analyzing data, and extensive reading.
